Life is full of information as I continue to find my alignment, moment to moment.
When I was first invited to co-create and participate in a global campaign to unite and share focused love for the planet and all who live upon it during this shift, I immediately said, “Yes!” I felt a lot of excitement about the possibilities of the positive impact that would be made.
I have learned to consciously create a more positive life, one in which I have rediscovered the importance of ease and playfulness for living a happier life. That’s what I want to help others discover, especially during this time of tremendous change.
I am very fortunate to collaborate with an amazing team whom I love and admire and am honored to work along side. We have busy lives, with a short time frame and a large project scope, but with a passion to make a difference. With my ability to multi-task, organize, and get things done—important qualities I gained as an uptight, control freak in Human Resources—it can cause misalignment. However, through awareness, I can tell when I fall into my old habits of taking on too much responsibility and the stress becomes too much.
The delay on some essential projects caused me to feel overwhelmed. In my irritation, I took my frustration out on my youngest daughter. It’s a gift that she has no filter and speaks her truth, although it hurt when she told me, “You’re mean.” Wow! I didn’t need awareness to get that message.
Nothing pierces my heart more than the thought of one of my children being harmed. It was even more painful knowing I was the one that caused it. Immediately, it became clear that I was not living the philosophy of this movement, to express love through a heart-centered place. How can I ask and expect others to do it, when I am not? Since nothing is more important than my personal alignment, I took a step back and processed this information. I could respectfully walk away from the role I’m playing, or see if I could find a way to continue, from an aligned state. Through deep breathing and self-care, I found relief.
For now, I will move forward and do my best to be in alignment, and come from a heart-centered space, as I share with others. I believe that the Catch the Wave 2012 movement can, and should be approached from a fun and playful perspective. By doing so, something magnificent will be created and accomplished as more and more of us commit to doing our best, in every moment.
